The flat is located on the top floor in a beach front building. It is light and airy and has a large south-facing terrace overlooking the sea. Even in summer is it rarely too hot. And there is plenty of privacy.

The apartment consists of a large living room, a hall, two fairly large bedrooms with built-in closets, two beds in each and a good extra-mattress, two full brand new bathrooms, and a fully equipped brand new kitchen.

Some of the best beaches in the area are just a short walk away.

The picturesque old town of Almuñecar is located in a vally along the coast line of the Granada Province (Costa Tropical), sheltered by the Sierra Nevada mountains, and borders on a very fertile plain.

In the centre of the town is the old Moor quarter with the Castle of San Miguel and a labyrinth of narrow streets full of intriguing shops and restaurants.

 

Surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra Nevada mountains, Costa Tropical stands out as the only coastline in Europe with an extremely mild, almost tropical climate. Summers are hot, Spring and Autumn have long warm days, while Winter is mild and windy.

The Sierra Nevada being only an hour and a half away by car, in Wither it is possible to go skiing in the morning and enjoy the beach in the afternoon.

 

From Almuñecar you have a wide range of possibilities to go on daytrips to Granada (Alhambra) and Málaga, take an afternoon trip to the amazing stalactite caves of Nerja or visit some of the white mountain towns in the Granada hinterland. In the surroundings you find national parks, botanical gardens, golf courses and plenty of fruit plantations.

 

For the Andalucians, Almuñecar is the most popular destination on Costa Tropical, foreign tourists are relatively few compared to other coastline towns in the area, and you find almost no charter tourism. Most of the international tourists are Northern European senior citizens who have their vacation flat here. If you speak Spanish, you can make good use of it here. By and large, you can really enjoy vacations the Andalucian way in this active litle town, which is a lot more than just another crowdy beach destination.
